RIVER RAFFTING 3 DAYS
2 NIGHTS APURIMAC
FIRST DAY : We
will begin the tour
picking you up from your
hotel heading for
Apurimac River at 08:00
a.m. It takes 4 hours to
get there. We will be at
3800 m.s.l. and then we
will descend at 1700
m.s.l., where we will
begin the adventure in
the Apurimac River.
There we will be able to
appreciate giant otters,
foxes, condors, ducks,
deer and if we are lucky
a puma. Before the trip
we will give you
security chats about
what you can do and what
you can’t, we will run
rapids (II and III Class).
We will arrive to the
campsite between 16:00 /
17:00. The campsite and
the dinner will be ready
between 19:00 / 19:30.
SECOND DAY: Early
in the morning we will
wake up at 7 a.m. and we
will have breakfast at
9:30 a.m., we will run
rapids (class II and III),
so like this we will get
a rapid class IV, after
have run rapids class II
and III we will arrive
to 2 portages (Portage:
non-navigable rapids,
for your safety we won’t
run these ones, we will
walk them). After have
run the rapids: Campo
Minado, Purgatorio and
others (all of them
class IV rapids) so like
this we will reach the
last portage which is
very short. We will also
have many kinds of
rapids such as: Tres
Maria 1 and the Z (all
of them Class IV) before
having lunch. In the
afternoon we will
continue the trip until
reaching a place where
we will found some
rapids such as: Tres
Marías, Trinche, Sin
Nombre, etc (all of them
class IV rapids). Then
we will begin to run V
class rapids.
THIRD DAY: Early
in the morning at 7:00
a.m., we will have
breakfast at 9:30 a.m.
we will begin the last
day of the tour and the
best one, we will run
rapids such as: Cola de
Dragón, Ramona,
Laberinto (IV class),
the we will have two
more portages, then we
will arrive to a V class
rapid in Apurimac
Babalua, then we will
have the “Ultima
Sonrisa” and finally
some rapids III and III+
rapids, in the afternoon
we are returning to
Cusco. It takes 2h30 to
get Cusco, at 18:00 we
will be there.
It includes :Meals
2B / 3L / 2D, boat,
guide, a security kayak,
loading boat, life
jacket class V, neoprene
suit, helmet, paddle,
wind jackets and the
camping equipment.
Not included :bag,
mattresses, flashlight.
Safety: For every
two kayaks there will be
a security boat and a
loading boat. All the
guides we have are
certificated by the
Swiftwater and IRIA (a
special course for
rafting guides). All the
garbage will be
transported to Cusco in
the loading boat even
human waste.
Useful Advices:
Clothing, t-shirts,
light pants, a fleece,
thermic clothing, swim
suit, sandals,
toothbrush, toothpaste,
etc and repellent for
the insects. Given the
new restrictions and
limits imposed on the
path to the Classic Inca
Trail to Machu Picchu in
recent years, has found
new and alternative
paths to reach Machu
Picchu.
