LARES VALLEY 3 DAY 2 NIGHTS
Here
we will appreciate the
remains of a culture
that nowadays they still
conserve their typical
clothing, an amazing
flora and fauna in this
magic and charming area.
FIRST DAY .- Cusco -
Lares Thermal Baths -
Huaca Wasi: We will
begin the tour early in
the morning leaving
Cusco by bus; along this
trip we will be able to
appreciate
archaeological places,
handmade markets and
large farming lands
where we will find the
delicious Peruvian corn
which is exported around
the world. In the route
we will arrive to Calca
(2940 m.s.l.), where we
will take an alternative
route and we will cross
the pass of Huaca (4400
m.s.l.); the rest of the
trip we will descend
until reaching the Lares
Valley (3250 m.s.l.).
In a few minutes we will
arrive to the thermal
baths (3200 m.s.l.),
where we will find many
swimming pools with
different temperatures
each one naturally
adapted, the
temperatures go from 28º
to 34. After having the
lunch we will trek to
Huaca Wasi (3600 m.s.l.)
where we’ll camp. It
takes 5 hours to get
there by bus and we will
trek for 3 hours
approximately.
SECOND DAY .- Huaca Wasi
- Abra Ipsay -
Patacancha. It will
be the hardest day
because of the altitude,
it takes 4 hours to
reach abra Ipsay (4400
m.s.l.), along the route
we will be able to see
some communities that in
spite of time they still
preserve their costumes
and their traditions.
The have a great
knowledge about the
agriculture and the
textillery and nowadays
they are the only group
of people in the entire
sacred valley that
conserve their unique
way to dress (colorful
clothing). We will
descend to Patacancha
where we will camp, it
will be cold. (3800
m.s.l.). We will trek
for 7 hours.
THIRD DAY .-
Patacancha - Willoc -
Pumamarca -
Ollantaytambo - Aguas
Calientes Pueblo.
Practically we will
descend the entire day
to Patacancha Valley, in
the route we will see
many communities as
Willoq (3600 m.s.l.),
Pumamarca (3400 m.s.l.)
and others. With all the
costumes and traditions
taught by our ancestors
along the Tahuantinsuyo
Empire. Ollantaytambo
(2971 m.s.l.), it has
archaeological precincts,
a great history and a
unique Andean
anthropology. We will
walk for 4 hours, warm
through the day and cold
at night. Overnight it
is advisable to take the
train to Aguas Calientes
– Machu Picchu (2050
m.s.l.) where we will
rest at a hotel.
FOURTH DAY .- Aguas
Calientes - Machupicchu
- Cusco.After having
breakfast, early in the
morning, we will take a
bus which is going to
take us to the citadel
of Machu Picchu (2400
m.s.l.); we will be
surrounded by humid
jungle and the
Willcamayu River. We
will appreciate the
citadel at the sunrise,
with a few tourists; it
will be perfect to have
a guided visit all over
the citadel and then you
will have some free time
to visit the citadel by
your own. We will back
to Cusco by train in the
afternoon.
